I'm Eyal. I write software, mostly backend and mostly tools. I'm Israeli, and since 2024 I live in Portugal, near Lisbon, with my family.
I started as a Linux sysadmin at the Technion, which is probably why I still reach for the terminal first and end up building things that live there. From there I did web work in PHP and Rails, and then spent six and a half years at BreezoMeter doing Python backends for air quality and pollen APIs, from small startup through to the Google acquisition. After that, Changebase, then Check Point, where I worked on data pipelines for security products.
Since the beginning of 2024 I've been working on my own things. Some of it is language learning (Lingush), most of it is tooling for AI coding agents. That started because I was running several agents at once and could not tell what any of them were doing without walking back to my desk. The projects on the front page mostly come out of that problem.
If you're hiring for something remote and it involves backend work, developer tooling, or agents, I'd be glad to hear about it.
